What is a geothermal pump

Ground-source heat pumps are mainly divided into three forms: groundwater systems, surface water systems, and buried pipe systems. Compared with the first two ground-source heat pump systems, the ground pipe system is commonly known as a ground-source heat pump. The system uses the shallow surface soil as a heat source, and exchanges heat with a water circulation system through a geothermal heat exchanger composed of underground pipes. Geothermal pump working principle

The ground source heat pump system extracts heat from the ground or surface water (groundwater) in the winter and from the ground in the winter, and stores the heat in the building in the summer in order to solve the heat and cold source of heating and air conditioning in winter and summer. In summer, the heat from the room is transferred to the underground through the unit, which cools the room and stores heat for winter use. The heat is converted into high-temperature and high-pressure liquids, which are throttled and reduced to low temperatures by the thermal expansion valve. The low-pressure liquid enters the evaporator, absorbs the low-temperature heat from the underground circulating liquid, and then turns into a low-temperature and low-pressure saturated steam and enters the compressor suction end. The compressor compresses and discharges the high-temperature and high-pressure gas to complete a cycle. In this way, the underground low-temperature heat energy is “carried” to the water collector so as to continuously provide hot water of 45° C. to 50° C. to the user.

Ground source heat pump operation in summer

In the summer heat pump, the refrigerant flows in the reverse direction. The condenser that exchanges heat with the user becomes the evaporator and extracts heat energy from the low-temperature water (7 -12 °C) in the collector. The evaporator that exchanges heat with the underground circulating liquid turns into condenser. The underground circulating liquid discharges heat, and the heat in the circulating liquid is discharged to the underground low-temperature area, so that the user is provided with 7 - 12 °C cold water continuously and continuously.
